The Centennial Outdoor Rink can sometimes be closed due to weather conditions and holiday schedules. For up to date schedules please call the schedule line or visit the website provided.

Artsolutely @ The Vernon Community Arts Centre
Artsolutely is the Arts Council of the North Okanagan’s annual fundraiser, which takes place here at the Vernon Community Arts Centre. Artsolutely is an annual shopping extravaganza and Vernon’s one-stop shop for fun and unique hand-made Christmas gifts. Featuring the Okanagan’s best artists selling their finest wares in different mediums such as paintings, drawings, glass, fibre, jewellery, ornaments, pottery, woodcarvings, natural products, and more!
Join us for Artsolutely! The most vibrant art and artisan sale in the North Okanagan. Running from Dec 1-24, find all your Christmas gifts in one spot. 25 of the Okanagan's best artists will be selling their finest paintings, drawings, fibre arts, jewellery, glass, pottery, photography, woodcarvings, soaps, and more!
This impressive annual juried show and sale is the Arts Council of the North Okanagan's 12th annual fundraiser. Art in the Heart of Polson Park!

Gold Mountain Dream Travelling Exhibit @ Greater Vernon Museum & Archives
Royal BC Museum’s travelling exhibit Gold Mountain Dream! is on now through to February 24, 2018 at the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives. Gold Mountain Dream! – created by the Royal BC Museum in collaboration with the Canadian Museum of History – tells the personal stories and sacrifices of Chinese migrants in the 1850s as they landed on British Columbia shores in search of gold. It is a fascinating account of adventure, heartbreak and social upheaval.
Visit the museum and see how the gold rush not only changed the landscapes and lives in BC, but how this monumental event changed China, as people flocked to a rugged land in search of fortune. Admission is by donation.

The Hot Chocolate Challenge @ The Downtown Vernon Association Booth
The coveted Hot Chocolate Challenge is back again for 2017! This time, the challenge will be taking place on December 2nd - Downtown Vernon's Shop Local Day.

Grab your official Hot Chocolate Challenge passport at the Downtown Vernon Association booth (location TBD) and hit the chocolate trail! Event will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 300 passports available the morning of.

Visits with Santa in #DowntownVernon @ The Vernon Teach and Learn Ltd.
Santa will be visiting #DowntownVernon this holiday season. Every Saturday between 10 am and 1 pm, children from Greater Vernon and beyond are invited to our downtown businesses who will be hosting him. Rumour has it that Mrs. Claus might even make an appearance.

No tickets required! Just show up.

Sveva Caetani Exhibit @ The Greater Vernon Museum & Archives
Due to the great response and interest, the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives is extending the Showcase Exhibition on Sveva Caetani and her life. The exhibition, located in the Allan Brooks gallery at the museum will remain until December 23rd, 2017 to allow everyone the opportunity to take it in. Admission to the exhibit is by donation
We will also show the 1983 film of Sveva discussing her Recapitulation series on Wednesdays only from 12:00pm -1:30pm.
The museum is open 10am-4:30pm Tuesday to Saturday. For more information please call the phone number provided.

Holiday Market @ Arrowleaf Cellars
On December 2nd AND 3rd, we're inviting our favourite local crafters to set up shop in our winery. This is your chance to discover one-of-a-kind gift ideas and pick up tried and true favourites that are hand-made right here in our neighbourhood. Stop by between 10:30am and 4:30pm to meet our local vendors and pick up that perfect special something.

Admission to this event is FREE but we will be collecting monetary and non-perishable food donations for the local food bank. Please give generously. We'll be making a huge batch of complimentary mulled wine and wine tastings at our bar will be available as usual. The Kitchen at Arrowleaf will re-open this weekend to offer fresh-baked desserts, coffee and tea!

The Downtown Vernon Association presents: Free Holiday Movies @ Vernon Towne Cinema
Get cozy and relax at the Vernon Towne Cinema December 2, 9, 16 or 23 with FREE holiday movies. There are 50 tickets up for grabs for each Saturday on the Downtown Vernon Association website. Save or print your ticket and show it to the ticket booth upon arrival. Thanks to City of Vernon - Activate Life parking is free downtown-wide on these days.

Rotary Carol Festival @ The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre

A long standing and popular pre-Christmas tradition in Vernon since 1952, the annual Rotary Christmas Carol Festival returns to the Vernon Performing Arts Centre December 2nd and Dec. 3rd.

Entertainment will be provided by more than 20 groups including a cross-section of local children's, church and community choirs, as well musicians and vocal ensembles.

The Carol Festival enables the Rotary Club of Vernon to provide a venue for the many talented singers in the North Okanagan and to provide financial support for the annual Spring Breakout for Seniors, a free dinner and dance with entertainment and live music organized for more than 500 local seniors.

The Pirates of Penzance @ 27th Street Theatre
The story concerns Frederic, who, having completed his 21st year, is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates. He meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, and the two young people fall instantly in love. Frederic soon learns, however, that he was born on the 29th of February, and so, technically, he has a birthday only once each leap year. His indenture specifies that he remain apprenticed to the pirates until his "twenty-first birthday", meaning that he must serve for another 63 years. Bound by his own sense of duty, Frederic's only solace is that Mabel agrees to wait for him faithfully.

ODE is a theme based theatre, music and dessert experience that is in its 15th year at Vernon Alliance this year.  Every year we have an original script written by Jason Armstrong which is always full of great humour, and thoughtful insight towards everyday life and faith.  Scenes are interspersed with modern music selections, and this year we will be visiting the radio station of CMTY!

Him & Her: Him & Her follows the highs and lows of a relationship as they navigate through familiar arguments and the difficult nature of truth. This short, two-person one-act play is written and directed by Keyanna Burgher.

The Whole Shebang: "What if the entire universe was just some nerd's science project?" In a classroom in a dimension far beyond ours, a student is striving for a "Master of the Universe" degree gives an oral presentation on an unusual thesis -- the creation of the heavens and the earth.

The Shriners Variety Show will feature Murray Hatfield, awarded "Canada's Magician of The Year" twice in recent years who will perform amazing illusions and magic together with comedic jugglers and ventriloquist with his friends.

The Shriners Of B.C. & Yukon are raising funds to transport local children to Shrine Hospitals for free care.

Bethlehem Star @ Emmanuel Baptist Church
As you journey through Bethlehem, you'll begin by signing the census, just as those long ago, had to register each family in Bethlehem. Then you'll discover a marketplace, where local traders display their wares and let you sample their products. Use some authentic shekels to purchase items in the marketplace, and pay taxes with whatever you have left!
You'll be transported through time as you enter the town of Bethlehem and see how people would have played, learned the Hebrew language and experience the sights and sounds of one of the most famous places on earth. You'll even have the opportunity to dress up and have your photo taken at our special photo booth, share your memories with friends and family who may not have had the opportunity to visit for themselves.
Finally, there'll be an opportunity to round off the evening with our drama produced exclusively for Bethlehem Star.
