| Sculpture @ The Vernon Community Arts Centre Level: Intermediate This 2 day workshop introduces students to basic sculpting techniques using tube and slab construction. Students will examine the work of ceramic sculptors and create a basic figurative or animal form in clay. The instructor will demonstrate a range of sculptural techniques to support the students learning process. This workshop will extend the studio practice of hand builders and throwers alike. The price includes ½ box of WSO clay. Pre requisites: This is an intermediate class for those with previous experience using clay and a basic understanding of the properties of the material. The goal of the program is to introduce more Adults (19+ yr) to the joys of cross country skiing through a social, organized support network. All participants must be SLNC Season Pass Holders. During your eight weeks you will learn the steps that go into creating finished pieces like mugs, vases, and bowls. | Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce presents Snowed in Comedy Tour 2018 @ Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre The Snowed In Comedy Tour has turned in to a Canadian success story. Celebrating it's tenth year. In a market still dominated by American acts with American TV credits a small Canadian comedy tour has managed to succeed. Like the Tragically Hip they have done it by touring and making more and more people laugh year after year. The tour has now performed in Australia, The US, France, and Switzerland. The 2017 tour received numerous Standing Ovations and was the most successful to date.
