With a degree in fine arts and a long resume of performing and teaching, Chase brings expert technique and skill to the stage. Mike Doherty, a professional musician, has composed and performed for the stage and the screen. His studies in voice, guitar, percussion and more have made him a skilled performer and perfect match with Chase's puppets.

With the intricate designs and delicate movements of the puppets, paired with the assortment of live instruments, Thumbelina lights up the imagination and gets the whole family grooving together. Be transported into the fairy world and find yourself believing in magic!

He was given that opportunity after the crash that killed RW Blackwood, but Elvis had already signed a contract with Sun Records and was unable to sing with them. Millions still love and adore the memories of Elvis Presley today. The Blackwood Quartet is carrying on the memory of Elvis with this amazing "The Gospel Side of Elvis" concert and are so very pleased that award winning ETA Roger Anderson from Seattle, WA will be joining them on this tour.

Mom's The Word III - Nest 1/2 Empty @ Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre
$40 Adult
$37 Senior
$35 Student
This third installment of the hilariously real comedy series, Mom's The Word III - Nest 1/2 Empty follows real moms as they face the next chapter of their lives. The kids have grown, marriages have evolved (or dissolved), and bodies are starting to backfire. Filled with hysterical insights, embarrassing secrets, and deeply touching moments, the characters share personal histories in a side-splitting celebration of motherhood.

Before "mommy bloggers" and Hollywood's take on mommy comedies, the Mom's the Word Collective has been mining what it means to be mothers since 1993. Conceived by a group of Vancouver actors, their portrayal of motherhood, marriage and more has received international acclaim. In 1995 they premiered the instant hit Mom's the Word, followed by Mom's the Word 2: Unhinged ten years later. Having followed the growth and change of these real-life moms for over 20 years, audiences are now granted the next chapter and a new generation of laughs.

Written by and starring Jill Daum, Alison Kelly, Robin Nichol, Barbara Pollard, and Deborah Williams, the topics and tales told by these talented women are poignant and relatable for women and men at any stage in their lives.

Canadian First World War Photography Presentation @ Greater Vernon Museum and Archieves
Join historian Carla-Jean Stokes for a talk on Canadian First World War Photography at the Greater Vernon Museum and Archives next Speaker Series, Thursday November 9thfrom 7pm to 8pm.
In 1914, photojournalists were banned from the Western Front, and “official” photographers would not be appointed by the Canadian government for another two years. How were Canada’s official photographers hired and trained? What do their photographs tell us of their approach to representing the war? Which images have endured, and which ones have been forgotten?
Carla-Jean Stokes has a Masters of History from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as a Masters of Photographic Preservation and Collections Management from Ryerson University. Carla-Jean won the 2015 Photographic Historical Society of Canada thesis prize for her paper, "British Official First World War Photographs, 1916-1918 Arranging and Contextualizing a Collection of Prints at the Art Gallery of Ontario," (later published in Photographic Canadiana). She has also written blogs and articles for the Laurier Centre for Strategic and Disarmament Studies, and Espirit de Corps magazine. Her special collector’s edition, “War Photos,” was published by Legion Magazine in May 2016. She works as Curator and Collections Manager of the Historic O’Keefe Ranch, in Vernon, BC.
